Ok who's into restoring classic/muscle?

Postby Schectercsh1 on Thu Feb 07, 2008 9:18 pm

I want to start it up without having to go to any more school. I can't weld for shit nor do I have the tools. But I'd like to learn. Does anyone restore regularly? I'd start restoration but I just don't have the money or a big enough garage. Come on guys we need a little business going. 8)

What do you actually need?
I've been restoring cars as a hobby for over 25 years now. I started back when I was in 10th grade.

Check out the "show and shine" index and look under "show off those engine bay's" and you'll see some of the work I do. Currently working on a 70 Buick GS350 I've got the front suspension and firewall pix's loaded.
My ride as it sits today, soon it will have major face lift.

Ok I have an idea.. I'll get a welder, we'll find some garage and a POS car and we'll take turns welding things on to it.

I have 2 mig welders maybe we will haveto have a meet just to get some newbe welders some time to play and practice.

120volt 110 amp and 220volt 190amp both are wire feed migs.

plan on buying in the near future a tig setup I may be doing a tube chassis for my duster to make it even lighter than it is now to help with the quest to go 9's or better with a naturaly aspirated motor with no power adders.
