SRH,

What kind of budget are you thinking of for suspension? In the suspension world, you get what you pay for, and people are rarely willing to spend that much. If you can afford it, I would strongly recommend Koni single adjustables and Strano performance springs. The combo is about 1000 bucks

If you go with any of the Bilstiens (there's various types out there with various valving), combined with aftermarket springs then you might end up with a crappy ride. Hence ride quality is something that is a personal preference. Koni's are ideal for almost any spring available. I noticed Strano suggesting KYB's lately for people who absolutely won't spend the money for konis, though you won't have as comfortable of ride quality. I would save the few extra hundred for Konis.

I would stay away from the Eibachs. If you are strongly against Strano springs for some reason, I'd consider Hotchkis or BMR way before. If you even mention Eibach sportlines I'll stab you in the jaw :P

Here's a good site that shows springrates for various aftermarket springs: http://www.angelfire.com/my/fastcar/suspension.html the stranos are not on there, but they are 550 front rate and 150 rear rate and will stay put if your axle is in full drop unlike other springs. Have too little springrate for their ride height and depend too much on the bumpstops to do their job. Hotchkis and BMR I would probably try before Eibach, though BMR rear springrates a little too high.

If you are wondering who Sam Strano is, check out an article they did on him in GM High Tech Performance. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/fe ... index.html I buy almost all of my parts from him, his shop is in Pennsylvania and if you buy from him he will give you lots and lots of advice for modifications, what you need and what you don't.

I have the Strano/Koni spring/shock combo in my car and it probably handles better than almost every vehicle in the spectator drags and is still very comfortable on the street. If you ever got a chance to just drive a strano setup on the street, you would understand how amazing the difference is.

I keep finding little things here as I keep reading lol...

17x9.5 wheels you should use a 275/40/17. You won't rub front nor back.

17x11 a 315 in the rear works well. I actually have 315 in front and back. Rear needs some slight inner fender hammering. Possibly some fender rolling or bumpstop modification or spacers. I "was" able to actually drive around with no modifications and no rubbing, but I didn't turn very hard either. Though if you do the TT2's or TTM's they may be already offset to the ideal location. You just need to do some trial and error. If you rub, fix it.

An adjustable phb can center your rear end when you lower the car, or just want to keep the rear centered. I would recommend UMI's PHB's. Again if you are dead set against UMI for some reason, I'd go with BMR or Spohn and not recommend Eibach.

Stab me in the Jaw? you couldnt just Punch me?

Stabbing in the Jaw Would be uncompfortable for the both of us lol.
No i dont want the Sportlines they are waaaaay too low.

i've heard of the other brands of springs but not really any reviews.
so eibach's not too good?

I want to Do the Koni's but they are a little to expensive for me right now. maybe a future mod when im done with what i want to do, but i want to do the SLP Bilstein Struts i've heard some ok reviews about them but ill check out everything you have Posted.

i didnt know if there would be any problems with the Rims im doing with Shocks/Struts in general.
i may have typed it wrong, it could be 245/40 instead of 45.
i need to do new shocks/Struts prolly mid summer so if anyone could Reccomend some Cheap/Fairly Decent ones it would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously no offense to anyone here, but I wouldn't trust anyone here for a recommendation for shocks and springs on a 4th gen fbody. This is the type of thing you want to trust someone who has had experience. Things like panhard bars, swaybars, etc are just what they are. Shocks and springs are more of a fine tuning balancing act, and you can easily mess things up more and make your ride crappier.

That's why I recommend contacting Sam Strano on this. He's tried so many setups and will tell you how crappy most of the stuff available out there is. This is a subject you don't want to just make a poll on a public forum and then choose whatever got the most votes. I would consider myself to be a decent person to provide recommendation, but I would def recommend talking to Strano over myself because I only have experience in 3 different setups.

Eibach springs I would say aren't the best. They are known to have inconsistent ride heights and are a little too low for their springrates. Sportlines are lower than the Prokits and have a lower springrate as well... which is just retarded. Tons of people tried sportlines and switched because they hated them.

If you want, you can just get rims. You don't necessisarily need to upgrade the suspension to do the wheels and wider tires.

I'm just trying to help you out. I don't want to see you buy something that was cheaper, and then end up paying more in the long run and buying what was originally recommended to you. Seems to happen to a lot of people.
